their contributions to "NIL" instead.
It's hard to see the AD (director & department) doing that voluntarily, since it would result in less money for the AD's operating budget. When money is donated to the AD, it cannot be used to bribe players via "NIL". Instead, the money is wasted by the AD on stuff that doesn't produce winning teams.
In college sports, *nothing* has greater ROI ("bang for the buck") than bribing top players, and now that's basically allowed out in the open – as long as it's not directly by the school.
