You're only strengthening what I'm saying. They don't need a stage mom or dad. They need you to be there when they fail so you can help them get up to try again and get better at life.

Right now they should be having fun and exploring. They don't need your help to bring more strangers to them, even if they-or you, think they want them or need them.

I've seen enough parents do this enough that I can confidently say that you're likely doing this more for you than your kid. That's an unhealthy trap all its own.
