This season will be interesting. I've only been following for 5-ish years. Starting paying a little attention in '17. Didn't pay any in '20. Kortay Vincent just tweeted that the weekend rotation is projected to be: Murphy, Lohse and Pimental in that order.
That means Rustad, Neubeck, Troesser and Hasty in the pen plus others. They'll replace 90-ish innings from Marozas, Kush and Cheeley that were ERA of 6+.
While losing Montgomery and Day is huge, lots of opportunity for better production from C and OF positions to soak up some of that lost production. I might be overreading things but it's interesting to how they referred to Wilsmeyer in their season-opening weekend PR. Doesn't look like he'll be starting every game per the PR as they separated him from Mann and Austin. Per Kortay Rockmnation article, he posted a 73 wRC+ last year. I think Chick and Daniels can both significantly outperform that.
Agreed on whether this group can win in the SEC. The other coaches don't think they can. I am confident that if they miss Hoover again Beiser will not be renewed. I believe that means this would be his 2nd to last year.
