surface Navy to last if they sail into contested waters? CVs are not stealthy and they have no defense against supersonic, let alone hypersonic anti-ship missiles. In a war with Russia or China, they won't be safe within 1000 miles of the enemy. Our air force has never been asked to operate in the anti-air environment currently in operation over the Ukraine. Our nuclear forces are on par with Russia and superior to China, should our leaders choose to employ them. I hope that offers you some comfort.
