I generally get to airports a bit early even though I have CLEAR and PreCheck. Sometimes meetings end early and you go to airport to get home. Not worth the rush. There are delays quite often. KC sucked with those options before.

I would put Kansas City in the Indy, Omaha types, and they have nice places to eat and drink. Now KC will. That is a good thing.
