Of course, since KC is a hub for exactly zero airlines no one will be laying over here so most will sit empty.

The KC terminal is exactly that. You either start your trip here or you end your trip here. There are very few connecting flights out of KCI. I don't know about the rest of you but I have never eaten at an airport bar or restaurant unless I was killing time before my next flight.
