ome modern products stack up very favorably to a traditonal bond ladder net of fees depending on the current rate environment . But hey if I won the powerball I’d keep it simple and liquid , put most in laddered high quality munis mixed with some US Treasuries , and a lesser amount in high quality stocks and/or index funds. Tell my advisor for a small aum fee he can roll the bond maturities as long as he’s getting institutional pricing. Then go enjoy life and never watch the markets again .
