I'm not sure what it means that "they were told it needed surgery and would need surgery and he could play since it wouldn't need any more surgery."

Bottom line in that you don't know anything about the situation. That's great to question what is going on, but to harp on it like you have the answers and know that there is medical malfeasance is just ridiculous.
