He said minimum of 40 hours IN THE OFFICE - perhaps they could do 40 in the office and 40 from home. According to various sources, he threw the 80 hr/week out - even if his e-mail didn't specify. Also, not specified as to whether the 80 was for a specific period, or the new norm.

I would say that the employees that told him to pound sand had a pretty good read on the details.
