laptop in their possession and knew what was on it, goes to Facebook and very likely the other tech giants and tells them there is about to be some info drop coming. They also tell them that they suspect it is Russian disinformation. Then the news breaks. And all of the tech companies bury the story.

The FBI did this with the intent of killing or delaying the story to protect the Biden candedency. You can choose not to believe it, that does not change the truth.
