government would have stayed out of the way, some businesses would have suffered, some would have flourished, and there would have been replacement of those that suffered into newer and stronger businesses.

Those good businesses that suffered more may have even gotten investors to give them cash to get through their rough times, or maybe their creditors would have given them some breaks through the tough times as well.
