discussion, constantly bringing up strawmen.

If you think the SEC refusing to consider any school north of the Mason-Dixon line is NOT related to the Civil War then allow yourself to be educated.

The SEC should be expanding based on the current selection of top teams regardless of geography as all of the pieces of college football are now in play.

If that doesn't happen, it'll be because of 'southern sensibilities' and not because the 'brilliant SEC' is playing 5D chess.

And yes, the last time that sort of thinking was used as a 'strategic choice' the results were disastrous.

Hint: It wasn't 1922.
