You have to look at the economics. Bringing a school or schools in has to increase the TV contract enough to ensure that all the other schools make more money. kU would only dilute the distribution. So say they are getting or gonna get $70M per school in the Big 10 per the 14 schools. Just adding kU would mean their distribution would decrease from $70M to $65M. So kU would have to bring at least $70M of value to pay for themselves, much less increase the payout of the other schools. They aren't anywhere near that valuable.
