shell companies or hide their identities so people don't jack their prices up because they know someone with deep pockets is putting in a bid.

Musk was paying sellers fair market value. Those unwilling to sell at those prices got more later.

I still don't see why it was unfair to those who made the decision to sell at what they considered a fair price at the time.
