KC does not have many large private schools. So the talent

tends to be more dispersed. Rockhurst is the only large private school in the KC metro and a lot of talent has come from there over the years.

Recently the Kansas side has seen an expansion in the Catholic schools which has drawn some talent away from Rockhurst and they are no longer the dominant school they once were.

Lee's Summit and the Northland have all built new schools relatively recently which has also diluted the talent pool in those areas.
