to. He'll make the HOF on the first ballot anyway. But, I agree he's a shell of the player he was till 2011. He's only hit above .270 twice since 2011... many home runs, but poor average.
He's chasing 700 and the Cardinals obviously want a part of that gate and publicity. I don't know that he'll get enough AB's to get there though. He had 17 HR's last year in 275 AB's and only 3 doubles... and he'll only be hitting against lefties so right there you know you won't see but maybe 20% of the opposition featuring a leftie.
Maybe something in him clicks when he's back, we StL fans can only hope at this point.
