then pretty much anyone can land top 20 classes at your program, so the leash is shorter.
At Mizzou, classes like this (in football) are *a lot* harder to come by.
I have no personal allegiance to Drink... If it becomes clear he's not SEC-caliber then I'll become the biggest critic he has.
With that said, I think Drink has done well so far (8-10 in the SEC isn't easy with the depleted roster he inherited). I'm willing to be patient with a young, promising, high-level recruiter like Drink... especially given how much the landscape and recruiting environment has changed w/ NIL and the transfer portal (something previous coaches never had to deal with).
Drink would need to hover around .500 or worse for another 4 to 5 seasons before I'd say it's time to move on. I would need to be *convinced* that he can't cut it in the SEC, to give up on a coach who can recruit like this at Mizzou.
BTW, Odom would have received just as much patience (if not more, as an alum) if he had the ability to recruit at this level. It was never personal.
