He coached OU from 1994-2006, going 279-109 (.719) overall and 128-60 (.681) in Big 12 play during those 12 seasons. He made the NCAA tournament every single year but 1, a 20 win NIT season. He finished 3rd or higher in the Big 12 in 10 of those 12 seasons.

....and during that entire span that he was able to accomplish that he coached 3 NBA players at OU. Ryan Humphrey who played 85 total games in the NBA, Jeff Webster who played 11 total games in the NBA, and Eduardo Najera. So he did all that with basically no NBA caliber talent. Which is why he is so able to thrive in this era of college basketball at a smaller school, because he is now the anomaly that can actually coach.
