KA took over a program with six straight 20 win seasons and proceeded to win 27 games over the next three years. Kim was the limiting factor here not the restrictions on the program.
When CM took over the program was in horrible shape but just a few seasons removed from those 20+ win seasons. Those that claim CM took on a no-win situation are being ridiculous. They also forget that he was gifted with a top-five recruiting class in year one. No coach taking over a struggling program ever gets that right out of the chute.
When it comes to the worst coaching hires in the history of the program Kim is 1A and CM is 1B. I think it is important to remember that Kim was hired on the cheap and received roughly 1/3 the compensation of CM. That should figure into your expectations of each program. With Kim we got exactly what we paid for. CM has vastly underperformed his contract every step of the way.
