I only observed a couple users here stating or insinuating that it was an AA hire, and I called them out for it.
AA-hiring is a real thing obviously, which leads people to make assumptions (one of the *many* downsides to affirmative action)... but Wilks was qualified for the job. Search "zounami wilks" and you'll see I've defended him in that regard since the get-go.
