I'm not sure I'd say CM did a "bad" job last year. Yes, they faded down the stretch, but the team won some big games, and they made it to the tournament. In year one, I thought he did better than "bad" with the MPJ injury situation. I also don't fault him for the second year, since the entire offense was to be designed around Jontay, who then got injured as well. Not saying he's good, but I don't think it's fair to say he has done a bad job at Mizzou. We'll just have to agree to disagree, as I know I cannot convince you - you are one of the more obstinate posters on this board.
But to your other point, I agree that this is a year where he will either prove that he can be a good coach, capable of winning at Mizzou, or not, and the team is just awful, and he deserves to be on the hot seat (or even fired, though I doubt that will happen). It's his roster, and you're right that it was his choice to reset - he could have retained more pieces from the 2020-21 team, and he chose not to do so.
