he knew Kim Anderson would be a disaster.

But on the other he was too old, weak and outnumbered to stand up to the blue-haired donors who demanded Kim. Alden was a lame duck by that point, and I certainly blamed him (and others) for allowing "Kim" to happen on his watch. Our basketball program still hasn't recovered since then.

And there's a "devil's advocate" and provocateur dynamic in a couple of those posts, to keep the debates spirited.
