disconnects between expectations and actual program in the nation. They had a period of very high level success under Eddie Sutton and another under Nolan Richardson, both elite Hall of Fame caliber coaches. And then outside of those periods they have been largely irrelevant until the recent hire of Mussellman.

Their fanbase does care about basketball, I will grant that makes the job attractive and helps considerably.
