They just wanted to get OU and texas to the SEC asap which meant trying to get the buyout broken.



best play for the little 8 is to add either six or eight big market non texas teams.

the regional pods would help with the travel burden. They'd have some big markets that isn't texas heavy. That is really their only shot at staying relevant to any degree.


That said I'm not sure those teams would really want to join. Some of those guys are probably more attractive to the power four than any of the remaining little 8 are.
