Interesting read..thanks for sharing. I think the "student-athlete", as we have known it, is already dead. NIL is the first step toward institutions paying players and turning college football into a minor league for the NFL. I hate that this is the direction that we are headed. By the way, it might open the door to worker's compensation claims for players, as referenced in your post. The NCAA has been selective in their enforcement for years. They are a toothless, paper tiger unless they are going after middle of the road programs, or worse. I am interested in seeing what becomes of KU and their basketball scandal. You watch...they will get a slap on the wrist. I am not sure it would work better, but perhaps the SEC can enforce their own rules and bylaws. It couldn't be any worse that it is right now.
