pressure issues dies some time after being infected, it isn't possible to say they weren't going to die anyway.
Probably some who had their life extended by infection too as they required medical treatment and other conditions were discovered and treated.
We know those most likely to die. From the beginning they should have been the focus of aid to help them isolate until the pandemic passed and/or vaccines were developed.
If you took the media and politicians out of this, people would only be aware a bug was going around and that some hospitals were overflowing.. like 2018 influenza season.
