Apparently it was a scheme that involved Federal and NY wage reporting for trump execs - and trumpco maintained detailed records of the scheme. If the Weissel was the responsible exec (i.e. - he was the CFO, so the accounting would fall within his realm), then the crime is greater than just his fraudulent under-reporting of $1.7m of income.
I would not be surprised if Don the Con was unaware of the Weissel's criminal conduct - what was in it for the Don (his company saved payroll taxes due to the fraudulent acts, other than that, there was no benefit to trumpco - and it doesn't seem worth the risk.)
The question - if Don the Con was unaware, why hasn't he ridiculed the Weissel? Is it because he was aware, or because Don the Con wants the Weissel's silence on other matters?
