When he came out, I don't remember anyone not being receptive or supportive. I think a lot of that had to do with a general transition in viewing what homosexuality is and it's place in America. And even more so, his team mates vocally supported him. Mizzou nation wanted to see him succeed. Can one point to an opposing voice from this board? I'm sure they can. They can also find posters who wanted to go the Big 10. Mizzou nation wanted him to succeed. But there was discussion as I remember to his ability and that he was on that marginal cusp and that discussion was labeled homophobic at the time by some because you weren't blindly behind him because he was gay. His interviews definitely suggested he was given poor direction by someone, his agent, someone tagging their agenda to his potential career. I know at the time I was saying he should be saying "yes, I'm gay, but I'm a football player and that's my only desire, to play football". Because he wasn't. Anyway, I hope he is doing well and finding success and happiness.
