No fouls are meant to punish a team for not playing straight up defense.....it's called a charity stripe and FREE throw line for a reason...Free points against the opposing team. Take the benefit out of hacking and slashing on the defensive side by making FT easy points and players will start moving their feet and keeping themselves between the player and basket as opposed to reaching and bumping.
