This first is it comes across as selfish. Screw the fans, alumni, students, even players- I’m fine and will be OK no matter what.
Well that’s just f-ing great, because we are all at ease now knowing our coach can just disappear without a care in the world.
Secondly, the obvious, “we play to WIN the GAME”. It’s not rocket science. I’m 100% supportive of recruiting without cheating and I understand it’s an uneven field out there. However, I’m also confident there are plenty of Coaches out there doing it the right way and they care deeply about winning.
I can’t think of a many real life scenario where losing is OK. 2nd place in sales for new business equates to $0 in revenue.
Can you imagine the CEO of a business saying ‘I don’t care about or top line or bottom line, I’m going to,be fine..’
