been. it's clear that you don't understand qualified immunity. basically, it means that can't sue you for doing your job. but obviously, if an officer violates someone's civil rights for example they can and often are sued. Now there have been some instances where qualified immunity in certain cases has led to poor judicial decisions in my opinion.

I can assure you that individual police officers aren't going to go pay for insurance. recruiting will suffer even more. and of course, crime will rise and more people, especially black people, will die as a result.

taxes will end up paying for it one way or another thru higher salaries and/or the PD purchasing some type of group insurance and offering it to officers as part of their benefits package.
