“no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxiation or strangulation,” according to the criminal complaint filed Friday against former officer Derek Michael Chauvin.
“Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease,” said the complaint from the Hennepin County Attorney. “The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death
they are saying 3 things contributed to his death. since there is no evidence of asphyxiation or strangulation how much could the police restraint be responsible for his death? Also, I guess the million-dollar question to ask is how much is each identified cause responsible for his death. for example, would he have died regardless of whether he was restrained?
i still think the kneeling on the neck was unneccessary and I therefore think it's excessive force but it amounts to an assault not murder.
