most of my investments were with a family member who has his own fund so it is hands off.
But since the middle 1990's I always saved a few $$ here and there to invest and play with on my own so I can learn since it isn't my core competency.
Now I have amassed beyond $6-figures over 23+yrs and it really isn't play money any more. But I feel like I can make decent decisions so I have never transferred it into the larger account with my relative.
