administrators are people who decided that teaching was not for them. Very few people who are really good at teaching kids and enjoy it want to give up the classroom to move to administration.

Because of this, too many administrators are failed teachers. I have actually had multiple administrators tell me that they were really bad teachers. I never understood why they would say that, if someone tells me they cannot teach why would I value their opinion when it came to my teaching.

Don't get me wrong there are a ton of really good admins out there but just like teachers most of the really good ones stop climbing up the food chain when they get to positions that they like and are good at.
