"Dual Threat" too often means can throw just adequately

and is pretty fast.
What you need is a guy who can sling it with power and accuracy, but can periodically (but not often) turn a broken play into something positive. A passer who is a threat to run from time to time, but running is not his best skill.
The typical dual threat guy will kill you when he can't throw when you need him to, like when you need points in a hurry in the 4th quarter.
