But the situation is definitely different.

There were tightening and widening of polls in 2016. Neither candidate was likable and so both sides were sort of holding their breath. Joe isn't a strong candidate but he's likable.

There's also the ho hum matter of the pandemic that Trump keeps insisting isn't real, then it is real but it isn't a big deal, and ok it's a big deal but only to old people and they're gonna die anyway, then I got it and I'm fine now so see? It's fine. Hillary was never at 50% and Biden has been there for over a month. Hillary was forecast by 538 to win the popular vote by 3% (She won by 2%). Biden is forecast to win the popular vote by 10%, which would be an electoral landslide.

Bigger than Barack over McCain.
