ambiguous statements and coming back and offering clarification at a later date. Same is true for the Charlottesville outburst. And he's back clarifying the debates today. The clarification usually involves a statement and then a "but......". The clarification usually does not totally sync with the context of the original statement. Every politicians says regrettable things but with Trump it's a pattern followed by a qualified clarification.

Frankly, I think Trump is ambivalent about white supremacy (he's treading carefully with the more extreme portion of his base) but as the pattern has been repeated on several occasions there should be some skepticism about his clarifications.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
