But it gets better, he then goes on to tell Romee about the 'three foot window' where you rock climb to the top by focusing exclusively on the job directly in front of you.
That's good stuff. A fresh take on the whole 'one day at a time' cliche.
Only one thing, assembling and organizing political protests is not in the 'three foot window' for the football program, the football coach or the football team.
These young men need to learn how to practice their activism in the proper political channels: ie not the workplace.
Learning that would actually be a service to them as young men going out into the world.
You don't boycott your place of work for political purposes - not unless you want to be fired.
Unfortunately, they're learning the opposite lesson in all that is happening here.
