a person engaging in debate creates that is easily defeated.
The debater dreams this up, attributes it to his opponent, defeats it easily and proclaims victory.
You've actually created several straw men here.
I've never said sport (and life? holy hell ya drama queen) would not go on.
As for 'people like me' you've dreamed up some sort person that you think I am - but I am not your father or your grandfather or your weird uncle or whoever it is you think are 'people like me'.
I'm just someone who knows exactly what comes next when the organization begins to capitulate to it's employees.
And that's exactly what both college and professional players are: employees.
If you attack 50% of your customer base the consequences to the bottom line will be devastating.
No sane business man would ever do that.
As for sports going on - well, maybe. We will see how the sports world fares in the coming months.
Certainly they cannot continue 'the same' losing half their customers - and continuously kneeling at the start of each game or wearing BLM patches is not going to fly - the costs will be too high - regardless how much agreement or allegiance you feel with those athletes personally.
So while you CHEER the destruction of some percentage of the customer base for sports, somewhere else businessmen are plotting the end of the professional sports leagues as we know them - somewhere down the line the doctrine of 'No politics in sports' is gaining traction and new businessmen dedicated to serving the whole market are planning a major disruption.
What then?
Will you reject sports with politics removed?
