patrons, even with regards to the health inspections.

Private companies could do those inspections, rather than the government.

I worked in a Mom & Pop chicken restaurant when I was in high school. The owner told me that losing the "A" rating from the health department was the kiss of death for a restaurant. People would not patronize a restaurant posting a "B" rating.

People should be smart enough to decide what is important for them. The market will decide whether businesses that are strict on mask wearing for employees &/or customers will do better than those who are more lenient in that regard.

Dictatorship of the majority is still a dictatorship.
