Math and physical science teachers tend to be very concrete. As soon as the hear you say 2 + 2 =/= 4 they tune you out very quickly.

There is no place in math and hard science for politics. I have known teachers in both subject areas that are very liberal, but in their subject areas they are very dogmatic. You have to be to matter the material.
