To those that hold generational wealth (trustafarians), I have no more value than a black person. Few of us do. The concentration of wealth is a class and political struggle, not a race struggle, and has occurred in countless nations over the centuries in countries with ZERO blacks.
"For black people to acquire wealth, they have to produce something white people want..." Not true, hip hop music is a global product, as are Kevin Hart movies, NBA basketball, soccer. And, as every insurance agent, realtor, loan officer, and many middle class professionals will tell you, all started selling to their own sphere of influence until they became proficient enough to branch out. I hired black loan officers, I helped close their files, I signed their paychecks, I know better than to believe white people won't have black loan officers and insurance agents.
"This is especially true for avoidance of black neighborhoods"...Crime and malingering. That's it. It's simply a matter of self preservation, not racism.
"So for a black person to generate wealth they have to build a business in a white neighborhood..." Mostly true for retail, and you see the same trends for white owned businesses. They follow the money. Businesses have been shuttering along 75th to 103rd and Metcalf for 20 years, fleeing south to greener pastures. I that because blacks moved in? NO, it's a GREEN issue, not a black issue.
I will be interested in following your excuses over the years, as MANY brick and mortar businesses start operating from home and transact commerce without whitey having to drive down Prospect, and on national levels as well. What will the excuse be then if the AA community still lags far behind every other community in terms of economic well being.
