they checking every single ballot? How exact does the match have to be? What happens to those that don't match?

I for one know that my signature varies. There are certain things that are always the same and anyone familiar with mine can spot it quickly but I doubt a machine checking thousands of signatures would spot those fine details, or even know which ones to look for.

There are also many ways to forge a signature. It is why my bank asks for ID before cashing checks for me.
