the Union had, with a couple exceptions. Until Lincoln finally settled on Grant, the Union was getting its a$$ kicked by Lee, Jackson, Longstreet, JEB Stuart and others at every turn. Without its vast superiority in manpower and logistics, the Union would have lost the Civil War, no doubt about it. Honestly, the same could be said for Germany versus the Allies in World War II.
