unpopular. That is the dichotomy the left has never understood. While Obama was personally very successful the Dem party crumbled under his watch. His popularity has never transferred over to candidates he has thrown his support behind.

His was a cult of personality that left no lasting impact on the party. His presidency was fantastic for him personally, just look as his net worth now, but a disaster for his party.
