I am bored out of the mind so I returned to The Shack



I was the driver in a drive by shooting. There was no robbery, no high speed chase, and no wreck. In the 1990's Missouri's Department of Corrections sent everyone through Fulton. After Fulton I was sent to rot in Farmington, Farmington is the Missouri Sex Offenders camp, I was not a sex offender and I was only 17.

It was an election year and Claire reportedly had a "hard on" for me largely because I am white working class and a good distraction from her husband's drug addictions. She wanted that sweet black vote and came for me, pushed me into a corner and forced me to plea to some bull****.

Missouri has since opened a second diagnostic center and I'd likely never been to Fulton or purposely sent seven hours from home to rot in a sex offenders prison. My time in prison was punctuated with some strange things, my very first night in Fulton there was a terrible gang rape. And my first week in Farmington included a murder in the yard before the sun even came up, looking back I don't know how I held any of it together.
