We were screamed down for suggesting that this was like the flu. But now that we are starting to get some measures of the actual numbers infected the fatality rate is looking much closer to 0.1%-0.3% than the 8%-10% we were being told at the beginning.
Just like climate change we are told to listen to the science. But as the science collects data that shows the projections were off by orders of magnitude we are told we have to stay the course in the name of science.
That is not how science works. When the data does not support your original hypothesis you make adjustments and retest an adjusted hypothesis. Instead we continue to double down on an initial hypothesis that we know to be flawed.
