The post you are referencing is specifically about this incoming recruiting class as a response to an immediate recovery. This isn't going to be a good incoming class, the time for correction has already passed. But we do not currently need a strong incoming recruiting class because we will feature a very upper class dominated roster this season, whereas the following season will feature considerable roster turnover and this class would be relied upon heavily at that point if it was sufficient.
Kim inherited a very good roster. At the time he was hired only UK and UF in the SEC had more top 100 players than MU. Two players left early for the NBA that offseason but he had a great incoming inherited class and had not yet started suffering all the player defections that became a trademark of his tenure. The roster at the point he was hired was considerably better than the roster at any point after that during his time as MU's coach. Kim's job that offseason was player retainment because we already had a good class in place. He was able to keep Gant/Wright and add Teki/Isabell/Allen. But he lost Beidshied/Jones/Punter.
