I doubt land line established companies with tons of fiber

in the ground that is already paid for are that afraid of another try at satellite internet services. He will get a splash due to his name but similar to Google Fiber he will find it is expensive to maintain.
Residential services are important but the business customer is where the profit exists for those companies. They are making a ton on bandwidth upgrades on an already funded network in most cases.
Land line companies are afraid of small cell and 5G once the cell companies solidify their hardware on the network. 5G is basically running through those same landline companies so their wholesale/carrier business has taken off over the past few years. The wireless portion is from the regular or small cell to the home. That is what to watch for imo.
