Really as a DB coach you teach fundamentals and the techniques necessary to play the position in the scheme the HC/DC dictate.
His DB's where exposed by Odom who wanted to run a gap scheme and not a play the run while rushing the passer scheme and then he Stood up his DE who had zero experience in playing is space in a effort to play a odd front. This of course exposed our secondary as we got no pressure up front and Walters DB's had to cover forever.
Yeah Walters had no real hand in that abortion of a Defense. He did his job, Odom dismantled the scheme, system and serviced what he wanted over the talent he had on the roster.
This year I'd give Walters 85% of the credit and Odom 15%.
